School board, Lemke switch stance on schedule change for 2019-2020
About a month after a proposal to change the times when the school day started and ended failed in a split vote, the Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board did an about-face Monday evening and approved the change.
The board voted 4-1 in favor of the change at the July 8 meeting. The change will be implemented when the 2019-2020 school year begins. It will adjust Lincoln Elementary School’s schedule from 8 a.m. - 2:55 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. The schedule at Lakeside Elementary School will change from 8:05 a.m.- 2:45 p.m. to 8:10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The schedule at the junior-senior high school will be adjusted from 7:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. to 8:12 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.
