Second-half McLeod County Property Taxes Due Oct.15
McLeod County is reminding taxpayers the second half of their property tax is due by Oct. 15 for non-agricultural properties.
Payments are accepted by mail, in person at the McLeod County North Complex building 2391 Hennepin Ave. N., from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or there is a convenient payment drop box located just outside of the building.
Property owners interested in paying by credit card or e-check, should visit the county Web site: www.co.mcleod.mn.us. There is a fee involved for paying your property tax by this method.
If mailing, please return your statement stub with your payment to insure proper credit to your property tax account.
Postmarks are due on or before Oct. 15. Payments postmarked after Oct. 15 will be assessed penalty. Minnesota Statutes direct the county must go by the postmark for penalty.
Most post offices now use a servicing center. Mail can be postmarked two or three days after pick up; please plan accordingly.
