Silver Lake Council approves City Hall space needs study

The Silver Lake City Council approved an agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc., (SEH) to conduct a space needs study for city hall, the police department and ambulance service for $2,950.
The council met Wednesday, July 5, because of the July Fourth holiday.
The two-phase study will include creating an existing equipment list and analyzing possible future vehicle needs, meeting with city, police and ambulance staff to determine and  prioritize future space needs, develop a concept plan for the layout of the facility that is not site specific, develop preliminary budget costs and provide a final space needs study report.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
The council asked if the fire and public works departments were included in the study.
John Rodeberg from SEH said that the two departments were not currently part of the proposal.
The council felt that they should be included in the near future.
The council approved the first study and will review adding the fire and public works department.
