Silver Lake Council discusses parking

Parking was the topic of conversation at the Silver Lake City Council’s quarterly meeting on Monday night.
The council approved a resolution limiting parking in front of Lakeside Elementary School. Parking will be limited on the east side of the 200 block of Lake Avenue South between Cleveland Street and Merrill Street between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Sept. 1 through May 31.
Regular parking will be in effect outside the listed dates and times.
The changes came after a request by the Glencoe-Silver Lake School District to make the streets in front of the school safer for students. The district has indicated it will take care of the additional signs that will be needed.
