SL Mayor makes appointments

A new year brings a new city council in Silver Lake.
The Silver Lake City Council held its annual organizational meeting on Monday, Jan. 7.
The first order of business was to administer the oath of office to Mayor Dorothy “Dot” Butler and Councilors Chris Penaz and Josh Winfrey.
In her first act as mayor, Butler made the city’s annual appointments.
Councilor Nolan Johnson will serve as acting mayor as well as serve as the community development and Planning Commission liaison. Councilor Brenda Fogarty will serve as the public safety liaison, which includes the police and fire departments and ambulance service. Councilor Josh Winfrey will serve as the public works department liaison. Councilor Chris Penaz will serve as the liaison for the municipal liquor store. Butler will serve as the city administration liaison.
