Softballers sitting at .500

The Glencoe-Silver Lake softball team is hovering at the .500 mark with a 5-5 record after going 1-2 over its last three games.
Last week’s win came on Thursday, April 30 with an 11-6 eight-inning win at Wright County Conference West foe New London-Spicer after the Panthers exploded for five runs in the added frame.
Pitcher Moriah Maunu went the distance, striking out nine batters while scattering 13 hits and two walks. Only two of the Wildcats’ five runs were earned.
Piper Davis was GSL’s hitting star on the day, with five RBI and three runs scored on a pair of home runs.
Maunu and Erika Ribar each had two RBI apiece, with Maunu and Maddy Kalenberg each scoring three runs apiece.
That win was sandwiched by a pair of conference home losses to Litchfield and Annandale on Tuesday, April 28 and Monday, May 4, respectively.
