South Dakota woman injured in accident

A South Dakota woman was injured late Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 212 near Brownton.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Mary Oleen Malo, 71, of Brookings, South Dakota, was eastbound on Highway 212 in a 2017 Toyota Rav4 when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a trailer being towed by a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Nicholas Jerome Kotten, 34, of Hutchinson.
Malo was taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Kotten was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol.
Assisting at the accident were the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Brownton Fire Department and Allina Ambulance.
