Stewart City Council approves permit for RV park/tiny home development

On a 3-1 vote, the Stewart City Council on Monday approved a conditional use permit for a proposed recreational vehicle (RV) park and tiny home park on North Street.
In May, the council had declined the permit, requested by Terry Rikke, after hearing concerns from residents, and suggested that Rikke come back with a revised plan to address those concerns.
Monday night, Mayor Jason Peirce said that the new plan seemed to alleviate those worries. However, Council Member Kevin Klucas said he liked the previous plan because there was more space between units. Klucas said he was concerned about the proximity to recreational fires, among other things.
Klucas cast the dissenting vote for the permit. Council member Jacqueline Curlott was absent from the meeting.
