There’s a lot going on at GSL Schools this spring

To the editor,
May is here and with this month comes another end to a very successful school year.
Once again at GSL, we have seen many success stories, witnessed a wide range of accomplishments, and got to experience a variety of learning opportunities. It has truly been a great year.
In looking at the next few weeks ahead, we have a lot going on. On May 16, our 10-12 graders will get to witness a “mock crash.” This learning opportunity will happen at 1 p.m. outside of the field house. Thank you to the many first responder groups for helping with this event. A special thank you to the Toward Zero Deaths coalition of McLeod County for its sponsorship of this event.

Parking lot
Starting on or around June 3, the north parking lot at the high school and field house will be under construction and will be off limits. The main entrance into the school will be the west parking lot at Lincoln. If you use the field house, we will ask you to enter door No. 14 and walk through the school to get to the field house. GSL Community Education will also use this door.
We thank you in advance for your flexibility and patience during this time. The project will take all of June and July, and should be finished by August. If you have any questions, please ask and we will help you.
Hopefully this gives you a little information on what’s going on during this busy month. To help keep up on the many high school events, please download the “Activity Scheduler” app. This will keep you informed on the many events and activities that are happening at GSL. It’s going to be a busy May, with the pinnacle of all events; graduation.
Graduation will be held on May 31, 7 p.m., in our new gym. It’s been a great school year.
