Thomas A. Victorian, 59, of Plymouth

Thomas Anthony Victorian, 59, of Plymouth, died May 23, 2017, in White Bear Lake.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 30, at Plymouth Covenant Church in Plymouth. Private interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Thomas Anthony Victorian was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Gaylord, the son of Anthony and Joanne (Kostecka) Victorian. He was baptized on Sept. 15, 1957, and confirmed in his faith on March 4, 1969. He attended Catholic school in Silver Lake from first grade through sixth grade. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1976 and furthered his education at the University of Minnesota, obtaining a degree as an electrical engineer in 1986.
Mr. Victorian served and gave four years of his life to his country when he entered the Marine Corps after graduating from high school. He was stationed in Santa Ana, California, and Yuma, Arizona. He was honorably discharged in July 1980 as a sergeant.
On Sept. 14, 1985, he married his “True North,” Theresa Marie Shimitz, at Scherer Gardens in Eagan (“Garden of Eagan”). They were blessed with 31 years of marriage and two children, Joshua and Breanna, and one granddaughter, Adelynn, who knew him as “Papa.”
After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Mr. Victorian was employed at Honeywell. In spring 1992 he was employed at Starkey Laboratories and held the position of vice president of engineering for 10 years. During his time at Starkey, he received seven patents. In 2012, his health prevented him from employment, and he left Starkey after over 20 years.
He served the community of Plymouth with many years of baseball development, which included the dome at Central Middle School and as president of the PWYBA.
Mr. Victorian enjoyed hunting, golfing, coaching sports and spending time with family and friends. His devotion as a father to Josh and Bre was seen in precious time spent with them bike riding, making their Halloween costumes and carving pumpkins, Bible lessons, swimming, coaching their sports, hunting with Josh, taking Bre to her first concert (Hillary Duff) and so much more.
He is survived by his loving wife and “True North,” Theresa; son, Joshua; daughter, Breanna; granddaughter, Adelynn; his parents, Tony and Joanne Victorian; sister, Deb (Mike) Kline; sister, Kathy Scott; brother, Mike Victorian; brother, Pat (Beth) Victorian; sister, Barb Bock; sister, Margie (Bob) Yurek; sister, Sue (Jerry) Victorian; sister, Pam (Jeff) Konen; sister, Tami (Bob) Merrill; mother-in-law, Theona Shimitz; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oliver and Madilene “Mary” Victorian and William and Frances Kostecka; father-in-law, Richard Shimitz; and sister-in-law, Kim Victorian.
His life will continue to serve and have a great purpose to science and ultimately anyone that will be touched by this very sad disease of Alzheimer’s/dementia.
Tom knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His family and friends look forward to the day when they are reunited with him in heaven. They love him so much and will miss him greatly.
Memorials are preferred to his family to support Alzheimer’s research.
