Three marching bands among highlights of Glencoe Days parade

The Glencoe Days parade, a staple of Glencoe Days festivities, is set to be a celebration with marching bands, drumlines, balloon animals, and other entertainment geared for the family.
The parade route will be altered from previous years because of road construction. The Glencoe Days Facebook page posted the following:
“We know that change is hard, but we can’t change road construction so we need to be flexible. Help us by spreading the word about the new parade route. The parade will start at 16th and Cedar; east to Ford; south to 14th Street; west back to Cedar.”
The parade is set for Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m.
Miranda VanDamme has been on the Glencoe Days committee for around nine years and has been in charge of the parade and related festivities accompanying it. She said there are already 60 units slated to attend the parade, and it’s not uncommon that 20 more units get added in the coming weeks before the event.
In previous years, marching bands across the state haven’t been able to attend the parade because of conflicts with state band competition scheduling. This year, however, the parade will see three marching bands: the Litchfield Marching Dragons, the Waconia High School Marching Band, and the Buffalo Marching Band The Herd.
