Tim Pinske

Timothy “Tim” John Pinske, 71, of Plato, after a short battle of Lewy Body Dementia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 24 at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, with the Reverends Anthony Stubeda and Paul Schumacher officiating. Sue Mielke was the pianist. Teresa Kuester was the song leader. Special music was provided by Cathie Hueser and Jack Noennig. Urn bearers were Mr. Pinske’s grandchildren.
Interment followed at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe.
Timothy “Tim” John Pinske was born on December 19, 1946, in Shakopee. He was the son of Robert and Janet (Holcomb) Pinske. He was baptized as an infant on January 19, 1947, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 18, 1958, both at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe. He attended Plato Elementary School and then graduated with the Glencoe High School Class of 1964.
On December 26, 1964, Mr. Pinske was united in marriage to Marlys Donnay in Glencoe. He was a lifelong resident of Plato, where the Pinskes made their home. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Brian, Karl, and John. They shared over 53 years of marriage.
Mr. Pinske owned and operated Plato Woodwork in Plato. He was the fourth generation of Pinske woodworkers, which began in 1893. He was a faithful member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. He was also a member of the Plato Lions, where he served as the Charter President and a member of the Plato Fire Department.
Mr. Pinske was passionate about Standardbred horse racing. His father introduced him to horse racing as a youngster and he in turn introduced his sons. The Pinske Stables horses race across the country. They are winter trained at Southern Oaks Training Center in Florida, another of Mr. Pinske’s business ventures.
He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. He cherished time spent with his family and friends.
Mr. Pinske is survived by his wife, Marlys of Plato; son, Karl (Melissa) Pinske of Plato; grandchildren, Carter (fiancée Kelly Arnold) Pinske of Plato, Mitchell Pinske of Plato, McKenna Pinske of Beecher, Ill., Jaelynn Pinske of Plato; brother, Rodney (Celia) Pinske, of Buffalo; sister, Patricia (Paul) Broat, of Leesburg, Fla; mother-in-law, Leona Donnay of Glencoe; sister-in-law, Gloria Oltmann of Plato; brother-in-law, Thomas (Jolene) Donnay Derby, Kan.; nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Sidonia Pinske and Archie and Patricia Holcomb; parents, Robert and Janet Pinske; sons, Brian Pinske and John Pinske; father-in-law, Cyril Donnay; daughter-in-law, Brandy Pinske; sister, Mary Ellen Pinske; brother-in-law, Bruce C.Donnay; nephew, Spencer Oltmann.
