Township annual meetings set for Tuesday

Annual township meetings — and, in some cases, elections — will be held across the state Tuesday, March 13.
Area township annual meetings include:
• Glencoe Township — The annual meeting will start at 1:30 p.m. at the town hall, 1107 11th St. E, Glencoe, Suite 103 (Glencoe City Center).
• Helen Township — The annual meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Plato Fire Hall. The agenda includes the budget, fire contracts, roads and other business.
• Sumter Township — The annual meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Brownton Community Center. Among business is the setting of the annual levy.
• Rich Valley Township — The annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m at the Rich Valley Town Hall, 16543 Ideal Ave., Glencoe.
• New Auburn Township — The annual meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the town hall, 5494 Fifth Ave., New Auburn.
• Bergen Township — The annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Bergen Township Hall, 16595 Babcock Ave., Lester Prairie.
• Penn Township — The annual meeting starts at 2 p.m. at the township hall, 15989 40th St., Brownton. The annual election will start immediately after adjournment of the annual meeting, but no later than 5 p.m. and polls will remain open until 8 p.m. Up for election are one supervisor for a three-year term and one clerk for a two-year term.
• Round Grove Township — The annual meeting starts at 1:15 p.m. in the Round Grove Town Hall, 20731 50th St., Stewart. The election polls will open immediately following the adjournment of the annual meeting, but no later than 4 p.m., and will be open until 8 p.m. On the ballot is election of one supervisor for a three-year term and a clerk for a two-year term. There also is a special election to fill a supervisory vacancy for a term that expires on March 10, 2020.
In case of inclement weather, township elections and meetings will be held Tuesday, March 20, at the same times and places.
