Trailblazer Transit mulls over health insurance, more routes
Health insurance was the topic du jour of the Trailblazer Joint Powers Board meeting in Wright County on Thursday, Oct. 18., and why not? Health insurance is at the heart of our nation’s politics, and nobody can seem to get away from it — not even at a Trailblazer board meeting.
But the board had to take action on a health insurance plan for employees to be finalized before the end of the year, so it had no choice but to take the typically painful discussion into deliberation.
Executive Director Gary Ludwig put together a detailed packet for the joint powers board members, laying out the current health insurance contributions model and presented the board with two options for health insurance, astutely titled “Option A” and “Option B.”
