Trap team sixth in conference

The Glencoe-Silver Lake trapshooting team fell back to sixth place in the Class 4A – Conference 4 standings last week after posting a score of 4,386 points in Week 4. The Panthers had risen to fifth place in the conference the week before, but were overtaken by Cretin-Derham Hall, who posted a 4,570.5 in Week 4.

Entering Week 5, GSL had 18,159 total points – just behind the Raiders’ season tally of 18,252.5. Sartell remained in seventh in the conference race with 17,413.5 points. McGregor-Aiktin-Cromwell led Conference 4 with 28,648.5 points.

Individually for the Panthers last week, Brandon Fronk led the way for the boys with 46 hit targets while Jessica Alsleben hit the mark 39 times to pace the girls.

Seth Schuette was second among the male shooters with 45 hits, while Austin Bernstein hit 43 clay pigeons. Among the females, Morgan Bernstein and Katie Collins were second and third on the team with 37 and 33 hits, respectively.

GSL is in its final week of the regular season, which is set to conclude on Thursday night at the Winthrop Game Protective League.
