Walker leaving home (again) to serve his country
Sgt. Tanner Walker knows the tools he’ll count on during the year-long deployment he’ll soon begin as a member of a Minnesota National Guard helicopter crew.
Besides the military tools, he’ll rely on a good internet connection home.
Walker, a member of the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division, will soon begin a year-long deployment that will take him and his unit to, among other places, a base in Kuwait.
Walker will be among 700 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard's St. Paul-based 34th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade deploying in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. A departure ceremony was held Sept. 20 at Grace Church in Eden Prairie.
