Wallace R. Kroells, 78, rural Green Isle

Wallace R. Kroells, 78, of rural Green Isle, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Friedens County Line Church in rural Norwood Young America (NYA) with the Rev. Joseph Clay and Chaplain Helmar Heckel officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Randy Kroells, Terry Kroells, Darcy Kroells, Randy Herrmann, Craig Goetze and Steve Vogel. Honorary pallbearers were Drew and Adam Hedtke. Interment was in the Ferguson Cemetery, rural NYA.
Wallace Ronald Kroells was born Oct. 25, 1936, the son of Peter H. and Lena (Nellen) Kroells on the family farm in Washington Lake Township of Sibley County. He was baptized Nov. 29, 1936, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg by the Rev. Otto Vriesen. He was confirmed in his faith on April 2, 1950, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church with the Rev. Vriesen officiating. He attended District 25 and graduated from Central HIgh School in 1954.
On June 27, 1959, Mr. Kroells was united in marriage to Marlene Von Berge at Frieden’s County Line Church in rural NYA. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Susie. They shared over 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Kroells spent his entire life farming his Washington Lake Township farm until he became a resident of the Waconia Good Samaritan Center. He took great pride in his farm, especially his John Deere tractors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially that spent with his grandsons, Drew and Adam.
Mr. Kroells is survived by his loving family: wife, Marlene Kroells of Green Isle; daughter, Susie (Todd) Hedtke of Green Isle; grandsons, Drew and Adam Hedtke; brother, Harlan Kroells of Green Isle; sister, Dorothy Ische of NYA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lyla Kroells of NYA, Harold and Muriel Von Berge of NYA, LeRoy and Joyce Von Berge of Plato, and Vernon Von Berge of Glencoe; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter H. and Lena Kroells; brother, Milton Kroells; sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Martin Oelfke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herb and Malinda Von Berge; brother-in-law, Raymond Ische; and sisers-in-law, Betty Kroells and Marlys Von Berge.
