WCAT threatens to pull out of Trailblazer Transit
Wright County Area Transit (WCAT) is threatening to pull out of the Trailblazer Transit public transit system, the joint powers board heard Thursday morning at its regular meeting.
The member cities of WCAT recently passed a resolution announcing its intent to withdraw from Trailblazer no later than Dec. 31, 2017. In that year, WCAT intends to conduct a transit service study and work with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) on establishing its own system.
“We’re ready to take the bull by the horns and manage this system,” said Jack Russek, one of WCAT’s representatives. “This thing is going downhill.”
