Whitesidewalls put on great show

To the Editor:
I hate to break this to you kids, but your folks and grandparents actually had lives before you were born.
Thanks to the GSL Panther Association on Sunday afternoon, all us gray-hairs (or no-hairs) got a chance to relive some of our youth to the doo-wop music of the Whitesidewalls. What a thrill!
And youth today think they invented high-energy concert participation … ha, Sunday afternoon’s energy level was sky high as the Whitesidewalls sang and played their way through a musical called “Love Potion No. 10” in the Grand Ballroom of the Glencoe City Center. Many of us oldtimers joined in. Most of us still remember the words to those old songs.
Thanks to the GSL Panther Association for sponsoring the event and to the many volunteers who helped make it successful. And thanks to the Whitesidewalls for helping us relive some of the fond memories of so many years ago.
Eat your hearts out, kids!
