Why isn’t the city following the Chamber’s advice?

To the Editor:
This past week (May 20), I was driving in the area of 13th and Hennepin. Stopping at the stop sign, I noticed a portable advertising sign standing on the city-owned lot stating,   “Keep Glencoe vibrant: shop locally.” Not knowing the owner of the sign, I did some checking. It was promoted by  Glencoe Chamber Of Commerce.
As you may remember, in January 2015, our city elected a new member to our city government (Mr. Robeck). He’s been asking time and time again why our city is not buying and doing business locally.
It appears that the remaining four City Council members and our mayor fail to address Mr. Robeck’s question, or have not seen the Glencoe Chamber sign.
