Wick has vision; is backed by Republican party

To the Editor:
When I attended the candidate forum last week in Hutchinson, I could hear the excitement in Brad Wick’s voice as he shared his plans for the future of this county. Brad wants to build on the foundation of our many assets, he sees so much more potential for McLeod County. Brad wants McLeod County to be the envy of Minnesota, he wants other counties to desire to emulate what we are doing here.
For example, Brad Wick wants to establish McLeod County as a high tech center which could possibly include robotics, drones or satellites. Brad will work to convert Ridgewater College to a four-year school and establish a trade school as this will stymie the exodus of our most brilliant and talented young people from our county.
Brad found it ironic that we have an 84-page, $15,000 Trail Plan but no plan or vision for McLeod County itself. If Brad Wick is elected in November, he will work with other board members to set McLeod County on track with both short- and long-term plans.
Please note that Brad Wick is the only District 4 Commissioner candidate to be actively involved in the local Republican Party prior to filing to run for this position. Since 2008, Brad has consistently attended the annual Republican County Convention and the biennial Republican Caucus. In June, after a vetting process, Brad was recommended by the McLeod County Republican Executive Committee.
We need Brad Wick’s out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving expertise on our County Board. Commissioner District 4 includes Hutchinson Precinct 1 (east side of Highway 15), the cities of Biscay and Brownton, and Rich Valley, Hassan Valley and Sumter townships. If you live in one of these areas, please be sure to get out to vote for Brad Wick in the primary election next Tuesday, Aug. 9.
