Hats off to the City Center and to all the people it took to make it happen. It is a marvel to see, and anyone who has taken advantage of the opportunity to look at it will likely agree. It is a historical treasure that thankfully was saved from the wrecking ball.
Few would dispute any effort toward helping to make Americans healthier is to the benefit of all. Therefore, it is encouraging to observe efforts toward this end being made by the Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP).
I first met Glen Menze during the winter of 2009-10, while competing with him (and two other candidates) for the Republican Party endorsement for the U.S. House of Representatives for the 7th Congressional District. All four candidates agreed to abide by the endorsement, and unite to replace the Collin Peterson/Nancy Pelosi Congress. I was surprised and disappointed to learn that Glen chose to violate his word and run on the Independence Party ticket.
Cheers to McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann and deputies for the way things were handled on an incident at night out at Lake Marion involving underage drinking.
