Late Tuesday, June 3, John Lipke of Stewart, DFL, filed as a challenger to District 18B state Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe.
In the other state House race, District 18A state Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Grove City, will square off against Steve Schiroo of Cokato and formerly of Glencoe.
Both county commissioner races will be contested, District 2 Commissioner Kermit Terlinden of Glencoe is being challenged by Douglas Krueger.
In District 5, incumbent Jon Christensen of Hutchinson is being challenged by Joe Nagel and Bill Hard, both of rural Hutchinson. The August primary will determine which two candidates will appear on the general election ballot in November.
County Attorney Mike Junge has filed for re-election, as have County Auditor-Treasurer Cindy Schultz, County Recorder Lynn Ette Schrupp and McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann. All are unopposed.
Charles Mathews has filed for re-election to the four-year term on the McLeod County Soil and Water Conservation Board for District 1. Incumbent Roger Schultz of Glencoe has refiled for the District 2 supervisor seat.
City election filings open July 29 and close Aug. 12.
The primary election is Aug. 12. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
