To the Editor:
It’s hard to believe that we are already coming to the end of the fall season at GSL. The school year has certainly gone quickly as I am sure the rest of the school year will do as well. We are in the middle of this exciting time during our year with the many activities wrapping up seasons and participating in section and state competition. Once again, it has been another successful season at GSL. Best of luck to all our teams!
Over the past few weeks, we have received our scores and MMR (Multiple Measure Rating) ratings from the Minnesota Department of Education. I am happy to report that we are making wonderful progress and improvements at GSL. All of our schools have shown improvement in scores in one area or another.
Specifically, at GSL Lakeside Elementary School, the improvements have qualified it to be a “Celebration School,” and at the high school, it scored a perfect 25/25 in both the areas of graduation and proficiency.
This, along with other areas, shows the great things happening in the world of academics. This is wonderful news and something for all of us to be very proud of. All of this data that we have collected will be used to continue to look for ways to improve and increase student achievement.
I simply love the culture at GSL and look forward to the learning process with all of our students, both inside and outside the classroom. At GSL, our students are learning, and learning in many ways and areas. It is impossible to measure all the learning that goes on in the world of a student, but in the ways that are measurable, and the ways that are not, it is clear that we are “Creating an environment where education is valued, excellence is expected, and lifelong learning thrives!”
Let’s continue to have an excellent school year!
