Two members of a Lester Prairie family died and two were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 212 in Carver County Saturday shortly before 2 p.m.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the deceased have been identified as Angelica Salas, 29, of Lester Prairie, and Jorge Salas, 6, both passengers in one of the vehicles. Jorge Salas, 29, the driver of the vehicle, and Omar Salas, 4, a passenger, of Lester Prairie, were both seriously injured.
Matthew Rodde, 33, of Excelsior, the driver of the other vehicle, had nonlife-threatening injuries.
According to the State Patrol, the elder Jorge Salas was driving a 2003 Pontiac Aztek eastbound on 212 when it spun on the icy roads and was struck broadside by Rodde's 1999 Ford Ranger, which was westbound on Highway 212.
