It was easily the biggest week of the season so far for the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team.
The Panthers, coming off a narrow overtime loss at Annandale on Friday, Jan. 16, returned home for a three-game stretch rife with implications for the remainder of their season and claimed three victories.
Then there was the topic of Keaton Anderson’s historic achievement.
Anderson, a senior guard, set a new career scoring record in a 56-52 win over Mound Westonka on Friday, Jan. 23. He tallied the first four baskets of the game to give him 1,280 points – one more than Ethan Maass, who set the former mark in 2013.
