Carl R. Mackdanz, 79, of Minneapolis

Carl R. Mackdanz, 79, of Minneapolis, died peacefully at N.C. Little Hospice, surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Feb. 12, 2015.
Mr. Mackdanz was a loving husband, father, papa and friend.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Kathy Dolan); daughters, Susan (Brian) Albers and Molly Mackdanz; grandchildren, Merrick, Matthew and Olivia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Muriel Mackdanz; and stepmother, Hilda Mackdanz Brekke.
Mr. Mackdanz grew up in Glencoe before moving to Minneapolis in 1964, where he worked in the retail industry until his retirement in 1995.
He was involved with the Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church and the Southside Singers. He had many passions, which included cheering on all the Minnesota sports teams, bowling, reading, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. His biggest passion, though, was spending time with his grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Macdanz’ life will be Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m., at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, 4101 37th Ave. S, Minneapolis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Minneapolis.
