Glencoe-Silver Lake senior Jac Chelman committed to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS and run both cross-country and track for the Pioneers during a ceremony at the GSL media center on Tuesday, March 17.
“Everything about the program was great,” Chelman said. “They really brought me in as a member of the family and I liked that concept.”
Chelman concluded his cross-country career with the Panthers at the state Class A meet in Northfield last November. His 10th-place individual finish at that meet helped carry GSL to third-place overall in the team competition.
Also a distance runner for the Panthers track and field team, Chelman looks to improve on last year’s ninth-place state finish in the 3200-meter run when he takes to the track this spring.
