After falling 7-0 to Delano in a dual match on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and a rainout of their dual versus Holy Family Catholic two days later, the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ tennis team opened its weekend playing in the Hutchinson Tennis Invitational, finishing fourth overall.
The Panthers took on Foley, Princeton and the host Tigers on Friday, Sept. 18 in a number of round-robin matches in both singles and doubles play.
Justine Helmbrecht played at No. 1 singles, with Katie Doolittle at No. 2 and Mac Monahan at No. 3. Maddie Dressel and Payton Lilienthal split time at No. 4 singles.
In doubles play, Lindsay Wedin joined Teanna Vorlicek at No. 1, with Allie Harpel and Mady Posusta at No. 2. Marlaina Chelman, Sarah Bandas and Grace Draeger all shared time at No. 3 doubles
Unfortunately, GSL was not able to secure a win during singles or doubles competition.
GSL hosts Hutchinson in a dual competition this Thursday and welcomes Holy Family Catholic back for a rescheduled match on Monday to close out the regular season.
