Competing in its first dual meet of the season, the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team came in second to host New Prague on Thursday, Dec. 10, 135.225-119.000.
Marissa Greeley led the Panthers with a second-place finish in the all-around with a score of 31.925. Teammates Gia Venier and Ellie Schmidt followed in second- and third-place with respective scores of 29.525 and 26.725.
Greeley was the Panthers’ top finisher in all four events. She took third on balance beam with a score of 7.925 and took fifth on floor exercise with an 8.35. Greeley shared her placement with teammates in two events. She split fifth on uneven bars with Venier after both notched a 7.35 and fifth on vault with Kirsten Barott after each logged an 8.3.
GSL was originally scheduled to host a home triangular meet against Annandale and Dassel-Cokato this Thursday, but that competition has been moved to Jan. 26. The Panthers are now off of competition until 2016, with a trip to St. Peter next up on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
