Competing in its first two home meets of the season, the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team hosted Wright County Conference opponents Litchfield and Waconia last week.
The Panthers posted scores in the 110s in both meets, but came up short against both opponents. Litchfield won 118.775-111.45 on Tuesday, Jan. 19, with Waconia claiming a 134.9-117.625 victory two nights later.
Despite the final results, coach Kim Hahn was upbeat about the competitions.
“The week went well for us as a whole,” she said. “With Litchfield, we had some falls on beam that caused lower scores. We seemed to bounce back against Waconia with better floor scores. Vault scores were where we were used to having them, bar scores were decent and beam was better as well.”
Marissa Greeley recorded a 30.2 to finish second in the all-around, with Gia Venier taking fourth at 28.275 and Ellie Schmidt fifth at 25.65.
