The Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team was swept in its lone competition last week, losing a trio of matchups in the Hutchinson Quadrangular on Friday, Jan. 29 at Buffalo Lake-Hector High School.
The Panthers were defeated 48-18 by Waseca, 42-30 by Hutchinson and 43-21 by Sibley East on the night.
Sibley East took a 25-0 lead on GSL/LP before 138-pounder Aaron Donnay claimed the Panthers’ first victory by pinning Colton Harens at the one minute, 27 second mark of the match. After a Wolverines’ win at 145, Dylan Melchert gritted out a 10-9 win against Logan Tesch to make the score 28-9.
Two more Sibley East wins were countered by three GSL/LP victories. Nick Brelje won by fall at 182, defeating Paul Glisczinski at 2:52 before Tristan Weber and Peyton Sell each earned narrow wins at 195 and 220, respectively.
