A storm cell stalled over Brownton Friday night, dumping from 3-3⁄4 to 5 inches of rain in a very short amount of time. High winds complicated the situation by causing a tree branch to fall on the main electrical feeder lines into the city, causing a two-hour power outage that put many sump pumps out of commission. Water from Lake Addie overflowed onto Division Street on the west of town, and the road was closed.
