The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ cross-country team got in its share of competition last week – first heading north for the Dassel-Cokato Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and then heading way north for the Swain Invitational in Duluth on Saturday, Oct. 1.
First up was a run around Collinwood Park in Cokato on a seasonal grey afternoon. The Panthers took fourth out of nine teams in a meet comprised largely of Wright County Conference competition.
GSL claimed 89 points in finishing fourth, five points ahead of fifth-place Mound Westonka and nine behind the third-place finishing hosts. Delano won the meet with 49 points.
Austin Schroepfer led the way for the Panthers with a fifth-place overall finish of 17 minutes, 51.61 seconds.
Not far behind was Michael Meyer, who took eighth in 18:07.64.
