A score just two-tenths behind its season opener was not enough to secure a second-straight home victory for the Glencoe-Silver Lake gymnastics team as the Panthers fell 123.600-116.325 to visiting Annandale on Thursday, Dec. 22.
However, Gia Venier won her second consecutive individual all-around victory with a score of 31.775. Venier won the floor exercise with an 8.5, finished third in the vault (8.35) and balance beam (7.625) and claimed a third-place tie on the uneven bars with a 7.3.
Breana Templin claimed the Panthers’ other top-five individual finish by tying for fifth on beam with a 6.7. Templin was ninth in the all-around with a 7.125.
Ellie Schmidt tied for sixth in the all-around with a 7.6. Her best event finish was a sixth-place tie on floor with a 7.6. Makayla Wigern was eighth in the all-around with a 21.85, with Alexis Bergstrom taking 10th in the all-around with a 21.125.
