Local musician Wally Pikal, 90, died today (Thursday, March 2), at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
Pikal was a well-known musician both locally and nationally, having appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and the Mike Douglas Show, and has worked with such musicians as Doc Severinson, Victor Borge, Conway Twitty and Frank Sinatra Jr.
He was famous for his ability to play two and even three trumpets at a time.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are pending with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson. Memorials are preferred.
