Brewers top New Germany for 10th win

A 7-6 win over visiting New Germany on Thursday, June 29, returned the Glencoe Brewers to the win column and gave the squad its 10th win of the year as the calendar now turns to the final month of the regular season.

The game played out as a back-and-forth struggle, with the visitors leading 4-2 after the top of the seventh.

However, Glencoe busted out the bats in the bottom of that frame to score five runs and seize the lead for good at 7-4.

The big blast in the seventh came courtesy of Mason Goettl, who tagged a three-RBI double to plate Colt Trebesch, Brody Bratsch and Teddy Petersen and make the score 5-4.

Glencoe wasn’t done yet, as Goettl and Derek Weber both came home to score, with a pair of RBI going to Jacob Popelka to put the Brewers up 7-4.
