Susan Doreen (Simonson) Ling, 60, of Glencoe, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Services Long Term Care.
Visitation was held Tuesday at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
Susan Doreen (Simonson) Ling was born July 15, 1957, to Irvin and Dorothy (Swensen) Simonson in Wells. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth. She graduated from Kiester High School. She attended Mankato State University and received a bachelor’s degree in hotel restaurant institutional management at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
She was united in marriage to Ralph Ling on Sept. 4, 1982, at St. Casimer Church in Wells. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Oliver, Anthony and Elizabeth. They lived in Mankato, Kasota and, most recently, in Glencoe.
Mrs. Ling was employed at Coborn’s, Inc., as a deli supervisor. She enjoyed baking cookies, cooking and vacationing in Mazatlan, Mexico. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her two grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Ling of Glencoe; sons, Oliver (Jessica) Ling of Stewart and Anthony “Tony” Ling of Glencoe; daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Ling and her fiancé Joey Buck of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Alex Hodges and Aria Abrahamson; brothers, Randy Simonson and Tim Simonson, both of Kiester; sisters, Kathy Simonson of Blue Earth, Darla Kenyon of Victoria, Richelle Simonson of Columbus, Ohio, and Marsha (Steve) Henderson of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Dorothy Simonson.
