The City of Silver Lake is sitting on some prime real estate on Main Street. Silver Lake natives Joe and Rachel Yates of Cokato approached the city council about the possibility of acquiring the four city-owned lots to build and develop a multi-use retail and apartment complex on the lots.
The Yateses also have interest in acquiring the other two buildings on the block.
The complex would include 3,000 square feet of main level commercial space along with 12 two-bedroom, two-bathroom age 55-plus apartments. The building would also include underground heated parking and an elevator.
