The Silver Lake City Council was busy approving expenditures at its meeting Monday, June 17.
The first of the expenditures was for the replacement of a 14-inch gate valve for the pond leaking into Otter Creek. The cost of the replacement will be $18,035. Juul Contracting of Hutchinson submitted the low bid. The leak was discovered when the spring flushing of the ponds was being completed.
The council also approved an expense of $3,500 for minor metal work, sandblasting the box, sander and frame and painting the new plow truck recently purchased by the city.
