'Monster code' an intrusive infringement of rights

To the Editor:

An International Property Maintenance Code came to the Glencoe City Council, Feb. 2, for adoption, passed on to it from the Planning and Industrial Commission with its approved recommendation.

Little to nothing has been told to the citizens about the monster code covering nearly every avenue regarding residential and commercial structures (inside and out) such as: construction, maintenance, plumbing, electrical, all spelled out in over 20 pages, along with fines and penalties.

Three concerned citizens made a plea to the council not to adopt this intrusive infringement on our Fourth Amendment rights
